Over the last five years, robotic surgeries in India have seen tremendous growth, Sudheesh Srivastava, president and CEO of SS Innovations in India, told IANS, adding that "robotic surgeries will be the future".

He attributed the increasing number of patients accepting the procedures to faster recovery, shorter hospital stays and reduced risk of infection after surgery. The company has designed the first and only indigenous Mantra robotic system which is advanced and economical.

He said, "India really has the opportunity to become a world leader, especially when the system is affordable. It is a model for many countries that such things can be achieved even in a developing economy and a very large population base.,

Gynecologist and public health professional Sabine Kapasi also called for increased attention to public health infrastructure, especially in rural areas and primary health systems.

He told IANS, "The focus should be towards technological enablement for some of these primary and community wellness exercises, where we connect devices, IoT networks, as well as software systems, which today provide better wellness to the public at large. Let's work to create."

Dr. Sabine, Managing Director of Enira Consulting, said personalized, secure solutions in healthcare along with continuous electronic health records are going to become the framework in the digital public infrastructure around which all solutions are built.

The expert also called for enhancing the skills of ASHA workers and increasing the size of the frontline health care workforce, which also includes nurses.
