Wayanad (Kerala): Launching the second phase of his Lok Sabha election campaign here on Monday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the ruling BJP and the Rajya Sabha and said India got independence from the British only to be colonized under the ideology of the Sangh Parivar. Was not found. ,

He said that BJP and Prime Minister Modi see only one nation, one language and one leader and this is a fundamental misunderstanding of our country.

Addressing party workers and voters in this high-ranking constituency as a part of the campaign, the Wayanad MP also exuded confidence that the grand-ol party will return to power both in the state and at the Centre.

India is like a bouquet of flowers and each one should be respected as I promote the beauty of the entire bouquet, the Wayanad MP said.

He said, “The idea that there should be only one leader in India is an insult to every young Indian.,

Giving the example of language, he said that it is not something that can be imposed from above and it should come from within the heart of a person.

"For example, telling someone from Kerala that your language is inferior to Hindi is an insult to the people of Kerala. It is like saying that what is coming from your heart is inferior to what is coming from someone's heart " A person from Uttar Pradesh,” he said while addressing the workers from an open vehicle.

He said that it is like looking at a bouquet of flowers and saying to a red rose that we do not like you being red and we want you to be white.

Gandhi said, “It is like saying to a bouquet of flowers that we want every flower to be white.,

Saying that Malayalam is not just a language but a link to a civilization, he said that when a child is taught Malayalam, it is not just speaking.

"They are being taught the history of Kerala, the culture of Kerala, affection and respect... this is what is being taught to them," he said, adding that it is the same for history, culture and religion.

Gandhi also questioned the so-called "one leader" idea of the saffron party and asked why India could not have more leaders.

"Why can't a young boy or girl be a leader? Why can't our brother who drives an autorickshaw be a leader? Why can't our policemen be leaders? Why just leaders? Why can't we have more leaders," he said .Gandhi also claimed that this ideology is the main difference between Congress and BJP.

The MP said that Congress wants to listen to the people of the country and love and respect their faith, language, religion and culture. He alleged, but BJP does not want to impose anything from above.

He said, “We did not get independence from the British to be colonized by the ideology of RSS. We want India to be ruled by all its people.,

Gandhi, who is again trying his electoral luck from Wayanad, entered the Wayanad constituency for the second time after the Lok Sabha election date was announced.

Earlier in the day, he held a massive road show in this upscale city by sitting on top of an open-top car.

Hundreds of workers gathered with him carrying placards with his photograph.

Listing various local issues faced by the people of Wayanad, Rahu Gandhi said that man-animal conflict and night travel ban are complex problems here and Congress is committed to solve it.

He said, “I have written several times to our Chief Minister and the Central Government regarding these issues. And we will continue to put pressure on them. This is a complex issue but we are going to resolve this issue with you."

He also specifically mentioned the Nilambur railway issue and said it would be easily resolved if Congress comes to power in Delhi.

“The reality is that we are not in power in Delhi or Kerala. Both governments are giving step-motherly treatment to Wayanad. And we will not come to power at the Center and in the state... This issue will remain," Gandhi said, adding that it was resolved.

The Congress leader had kicked off the election campaign in Wayanad earlier this month by filing his nomination papers and holding a massive road show.

Gandhi won from Wayanad during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections by a record margin of 4,31,770 votes.
