New Delhi [India], India and Denmark on Monday began a four-day bilateral dialogue between the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and Statens Serum Institute (SSI), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Denmark's Ministry of Interior and Health, New Delhi.

The event aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance and One Health approach.

The inaugural session was attended by Danish Ambassador Freddy Swain, Directorate General of Health Services Professor Atul Goyal and other senior officials of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

"A four-day program to organize bilateral talks between National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), @MoHFW_India, Government of India and Statens Serum Institut (SSI), Ministry of Interior and Health of the Kingdom of Denmark began today.in New Delhi. The event aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance and One Health approach, the health ministry said in a post on Twitter.

"Professor (Dr) Atul Goyal, DGHS, Ambassador of Denmark Mr Freddy Swain and other senior officials of @MoHFW_India and Denmark attended the inaugural session," the post said.

Director General of Health Services, Professor Atul Goyal said that after Covid, we will have to be prepared for the coming epidemic and for this cooperation is being done all over the world.

“A collaborative dialogue is ongoing between NCDC (National Center for Disease Control) and SSI (Statens Serum Institut) of Denmark.The most important health issues present today include antimicrobial resistance (AMR), One Health and contagion. Disease prevention, especially the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic,” he told reporters.

He stressed, "After the Covid period, we have to be prepared for the upcoming pandemic. That is why collaborations are being done across the world. One of those collaborations is between India and Denmark."
