New Delhi: For the first time, during the India-Belarus consular talks, a wide range of consular issues ranging from the welfare of Indian students in Belarus to enhancing tourism between the two countries were discussed, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday.

The talks were held in Minsk on 28 June.

The Indian delegation was led by Joint Secretary (Consular, Passport and Visa) Aman Puri, while the Belarusian delegation was led by Andrei Kozan, head of the General Directorate of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus. Ministry of External Affairs) said in a statement.

"The talks focused on a wide range of consular issues ranging from the welfare of Indian students in Belarus to enhancing tourism between the two countries," it said.

The visiting Indian delegation also met senior officials of the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry as well as representatives of the Indian student community in Belarus.

"Both sides agreed to abide by the decisions of the talks and review them at the next edition of the India-Belarus Consular Dialogue, to be held in New Delhi at a mutually convenient date," the statement said.
