Kwatra further said that the challenge of Rohingyas before Bangladesh has many aspects.

In the early 1970s, India opened its borders to more than 10 million Bangladeshi people fleeing the brutality of Pakistani military forces. India was not a signatory to any international convention, yet the New Delhi government helped these refugees settle in the country and provided financial assistance.

These issues were discussed during bilateral talks between PM Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Hasina today.
