New Delhi, In a significant step to enhance bilateral health cooperation, India and Japan have agreed to step up their collaborative efforts during a meeting on the sidelines of the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva, officials said on Monday. Gave.

He said both countries stressed their commitment to carry forward the memorandum of cooperation signed in 2018.

Key areas of focus include expanding cooperation to new areas such as digital health, use of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, care of the elderly and tackling non-communicable diseases.

Officials said the initiative aims to leverage technological advancements to improve health outcomes and address the growing challenges posed by an aging population and lifestyle-related diseases.

He highlighted the importance of the upcoming Joint Working Group meeting which will facilitate detailed planning and implementation of collaborative projects.

Additionally, both countries are set to strengthen their ongoing program focused on training Indian nursing professionals in Japanese language.

He said the program is designed to prepare nurses for employment opportunities in Japan, meeting the country's healthcare workforce needs as well as providing valuable career prospects for Indian professionals.
