ME Joint Secretary (CT) K.D. during the 16th meeting of the India-France Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism in Delhi. Discussions were held with the Indian side under the leadership of. Deval and the French delegation were led by Special Envoy for Terrorism and Organized Crime Ambassador Olivier Caron.

"Anti-India separatist activities, and combating the financing of terror, organized crime and narco-terrorist networks also figured in the discussion. The Indian side presented its views on NMFT and FATF, which led to exchange of relevant positions by both sides " Said in a statement issued by the Foreign Minister.

"Both sides exchanged views on terrorist threats in their respective regions, including state-sponsored, cross-border terrorism in South Asia Africa and the Middle East as well as terrorist activities in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region," it said.

It said India and France also stressed the importance of strengthening counter-terrorism cooperation through exchange of information, capacity building, training programs and exercises and cooperation at multilateral fora such as the United Nations, FATF and NMFT.
