New Delhi: The Center on Friday asked all training institutes under it to include material on three new criminal laws coming into effect from next month in various programs organized by them for government employees, according to an official order.

It said they have been asked to make appropriate use of the e-courses that provide an overview of the changes introduced through the new laws, which are available on the iGOT (Integrated Government Online Training) Karmayogi portal.

The three new criminal laws – the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023 and the Indian Literacy Act, 2023 – will replace the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and the Indian Penal Code. The Evidence Act, 1872, was notified on December 25, 2023. They will come into effect on July 1.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said, "In this regard, all Ministries and Departments are requested to advise the training institutions under their administrative control to incorporate the content of these three new laws in the various training programs conducted by them." Issue appropriate instructions." Said in an order issued to all ministries and departments of the central government.

They have been asked to seek assistance from the Bureau of Police Research and Development under the Home Ministry for any assistance in "organizing training programs on the subject".
