Thane: A 34-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her brother-in-law to death after a minor argument and attempted suicide by slitting her wrist at her home in Maharashtra's Thane district, police said on Monday.
The incident took place at the woman's house in Sonarpada area of Dombivil city on Sunday afternoon, an official said.
He said that Sangeeta Mengane had an argument with her brother-in-law Sagar (38) and in a fit of anger he allegedly attacked him with a knife, resulting in his death on the spot.
After this, she tried to commit suicide by cutting her wrist with a sharp object, he said, adding that the woman is currently undergoing treatment.
The victim was stabbed several times in the chest and his body was sent for post-mortem. The officer said that a case has been registered based on the complaint of the victim's wife.
