Raipur: According to the trends received so far, BJP has a strong lead in 10 out of 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh.

The Congress has managed to make gains only in the Korba seat, where its sitting MP Jyotsna Mahanta, wife of current opposition leader Charandas Mahanta, is leading over influential BJP woman leader Saroj Pandey by a margin of 8,304 votes.

Counting of votes started at 8 am on Tuesday at 33 centers and postal ballots were counted in the first half hour.

In the high-profile Rajnandgaon seat, Congress leader and former chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, who was leading initially, is trailing BJP's sitting MP Santosh Pandey by a margin of 33,512 votes.

Influential BJP leader Brijmohan Agarwal is leading over Congress's Vikas Upadhyay in the crucial Raipur seat by a huge margin of 2,04,684 votes.

In Durg, sitting BJP MP Vijay Baghel is ahead of his nearest rival Rajendra Sahu of Congress by 1,82,933 votes.On Naxal-affected Bastar seat (Scheduled Tribe reserved), BJP's Mahesh Kashyap is leading over Congress's firebrand leader Kawasi Lakhma by 29,722 votes.

On Bilaspur seat, former BJP MLA Tokhan Sahu is leading over sitting MLA Devendra Yadav of Congress by 40,594 votes.

BJP's Chintamani Maharaj, who left Congress before the last assembly elections, is ahead of Congress' Shashi Singh by 78,023 votes in the Scheduled Tribe reserved Surguja seat.

In tribal-dominated Raigarh, BJP's Radheshyam Rathiya is leading by a margin of 1,51,964 votes over Congress's Dr Maneka Devi Singh, who hails from the former royal family of Sarangarh.

In Mahasamund seat, BJP's Roopkumari Chaudhary is leading over former state minister Tamradhwaj Sahu of Congress by 42,984 votes.

In Kanker seat, BJP candidate Bhojraj Nag is ahead of Congress's Biresh Thakur by 23,736 votes.

In the only SC-reserved Janjgir-Champa seat, BJP woman leader Kamlesh Jangade was leading by a margin of 42,716 votes against Congress candidate and former state minister Shivkumar Dahria.
