Kolkata: According to the Election Commission website, after the initial round of counting, TMC has overtaken its rivals and is leading on 22 seats, while BJP is leading on five and Congress on two seats.

TMC candidate and sitting MP Abhishek Banerjee is leading over his nearest rival BJP's Abhijit Das in the Diamond Harbor constituency by a margin of 32,507 votes.

After counting of postal ballots, TMC's Hooghly candidate Rachna Banerjee is leading over her nearest BJP rival and sitting MP Locket Chatterjee.

TMC candidate and two-time MP Asit Mal is leading from Bolpur by 6,010 votes over his nearest rival Piya Saha of BJP.

In Malda South, Congress candidate Isha Khan Choudhary is leading by 11,733 votes over her nearest rival BJP rival Srirupa Mitra Choudhary. In Jadavpur, TMC's Sayani Ghosh is leading over her nearest BJP rival Anirban Ganguly by 8,048 votes.In Malda North, sitting MP and BJP candidate Khagen Murmu is leading over his nearest rival TMC's Prasun Banerjee by a margin of 11,119 votes.

In Cooch Behar, BJP candidate and sitting MP Nishihat Pramanik is trailing against his TMC candidate Jagdish Chandra Barma Basunia by a margin of 5,529 votes.

According to the Election Commission website, in West Bengal's Balurghat seat, veteran BJP candidate and state president Sukant Majumdar is trailing his nearest rival Biplab Mitra of TMC by 4,855 votes.

In West Bengal's Asansol seat, BJP candidate SS Ahluwalia is ahead of his nearest rival TMC's Shatrughan Sinha by 6,956 votes. In Bankura Lok Sabha constituency, TMC candidate Arup Chakraborty is ahead of BJP candidate and sitting MP Subhash Sarkar by 3765 votes.

TMC candidate and party's Lok Sabha leader Sudip Bandopadhyay is leading from Kolkata North seat by 98 votes over his nearest rival BJP rival Tapas Roy.In Bardhaman-Durgapur seat, TMC candidate Kirti Azad is leading over his nearest BJP rival Dilip Ghosh by 6,526 votes.

In Kolkata South seat, TMC candidate Mala Roy is leading over her nearest rival CPI(M) Saira Shah Haleem by a margin of 12,491 votes.Counting of votes for 42 Lok Sabha seats started at 8 am.
