Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Actor Imran Khan recently gave fans a glimpse of his new house.

Imran shared a series of pictures on his Instagram account on Saturday, showing a beautiful house under construction and at the edge of nature.

The post showed photos of the house in various stages of construction.

Along with the pictures, Imran wrote a long caption explaining how he designed his house, from closing the site to the interior and how he has been building the house for years.

Imran's caption read, “So… one of the things I did in the last few years was build a house.Although I have played an architect in a few films, I cannot pretend to have any kind of training or expertise... but I do enjoy tinkering with things and learning!”

"I chose this location because it was unique. Unperturbed, surrounded by two seasonal streams, right at the base of a cliff... and facing the sunset. I knew immediately that the landscape should complement the design of the house. The intention was not to create a grand holiday villa, but to create something that takes cues from the landscape, a haven from which the view can be admired.

“I spent the first year visiting the site at different times to watch sunrises and sunsets, the flow of rivers when it rains and the leaves changing during the seasons. This gave me an overall base from which I could review and rework. My sketches,” he added.

"After consulting my contractor and a structural engineer, I decided to abandon concrete slab construction, and instead follow the classic method used to build houses in the surrounding villages; stone plinth for the base. , single storey brick walls, steel roof beams, and pre-fabricated insulated roofing sheets.

On a closing note, he shared, "It took a little time, and it's a little uneven around the edges... but it was an enjoyable process. And ultimately, it cost me less than what I'd pay for one of the pre-made The villas I keep seeing advertised all over the area make me wonder where the markup goes.,
