Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh): Authorities have demolished the houses of two accused in the case of a policeman being crushed by a tractor-trolley carrying illegally mined sand in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district, an official said on Monday. Gave this information.

Superintendent of Police Kumar Prateek said that the police also arrested the absconding tractor-trolley owner Surendra Singh late on Sunday night.

Ashutosh Singh, son of Surendra Singh, who was driving the tractor, and driver Raj Rawat were earlier arrested in connection with the incident that took place on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday in Badauli village of Byohari police station area.

The proposal to provide assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of deceased Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mahendra Bagri (in view of the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct) will be sent to the Election Commission for approval. Chief Minister's Office said.

ASI Bagri, posted at Byohari police station, along with two colleagues were going to arrest a person in some case.SP Prati told on Sunday that on the way he saw a tractor-trolley laden with sand coming towards him and tried to stop it.

Bagri and other policemen signaled the driver to stop the tractor carrying illegally mined sand. But he did not stop and the vehicle ran over the ASI, the officer said.

District Collector Tarun Bhatnagar said that the tractor driver's house worth about Rs 4 lakh was demolished on Sunday evening.

He said that two houses of tractor owner Surendra Singh worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 4 lakh were also demolished.SP Prateek said that Beohari police station in-charge Munnalal Rahangdale has been attached to B Line (removed from field duty).



He said that the proposal to expel the accused father and son from the district has been sent to the District Collector for approval.

A case has been registered against the accused under provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Mines Act on charges of murder and illegal San mining, the official said.



'Piloting' in Shahdol is used to allow a vehicle to proceed when it is seen that the road is clear and no checking is being done by the authorities.



In November last year, a local revenue department official was crushed to death by a tractor-trolley used to transport illegally mined sand from the So river in Gopalpur area of ​​Shahdol district.
