Noida, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority on Monday said it has intensified action against encroachers in its notified areas and issued notices to around 350 people for carrying out illegal construction.

According to an official statement, in the notice, GNIDA has asked the encroachers to remove the illegal constructions or face demolition action.

It said these notices have been issued to 250 encroachers, including 176 people for illegal construction in Haibatpur in the submergence area along the banks of Hindon river, while the remaining notices are for Sunpura village.

GNIDA, which functions under the Uttar Pradesh government, said construction cannot be carried out in its notified areas without its permission and information in this regard has been regularly disseminated.

“But, due to the allure of having one's own home” some people are falling into the trap of illegal colonizers who are usurping their hard-earned money. They try to build houses by purchasing land in illegal colonies. As soon as I come to know, the authority takes action to demolish these illegal constructions,” GNIDA said.

"To take effective action against encroachment, Greater Noida Authority CEO N Ravi Kumar has issued instructions to demolish such constructions by launching a campaign. “Ahead of the demolition, the Greater Noida Authority has issued notices to 350 people carrying out illegal construction, directing them to immediately remove the illegal construction,” it added.

Annapurna Garg, Additional CEO, Greater Noida Authority, cautioned that no one will be allowed to carry out construction work in the notified areas and strict action will be taken against those doing so.

Garg said, "Earlier also the authority has taken action by issuing notices against illegal construction in many villages."
