The stack will be available for use in the public health care system, starting in Uttar Pradesh.

As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), ICICI Foundation will support this initiative with significant fund requirements for several years.

STACK connects technology, medical research and innovation to bring a paradigm shift in the field of public healthcare.

The project aims to develop medtech devices, improve point-of-care (POC) services and strengthen public health care capacity.

Moreover, it will also help in detecting chronic diseases through Artificial Intelligence-integrated tools.

This project will be housed in IIT Kanpur campus.

“With core expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and thriving medtech ecosystem, IIT Kanpur is ready to provide the necessary technical support for the mission of developing the digital health stack. We are grateful to the ICICI Foundation for their generous contribution to this initiative and look forward to a successful endeavour,” said Professor Manindra Agarwal, Director, IIT Kanpur.

“ICICI Foundation is working for capacity building in the healthcare sector. In line with this, we are pleased to collaborate with IIT Kanpur to build a digital health stack that will contribute to digitizing and enhancing the public health care system,” said Sanjay Dutta, Chairman, ICICI Foundation.

IIT Kanpur had in February signed an MoU with the UP government to collaborate in research and development efforts for the UP Digital Health Stack under the National Health Stack program of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

As per the MoU, IIT Kanpur will create, validate and maintain several critical digital health services for the state of UP.
