New Delhi, Encouraged by the recent success of its young rookies, the Indian Goal Association has expanded its activities to 'Training the Trainers' and 'Growing the Game' to develop the game in the country.

The Sports Ministry has been generous in its support to golfers ahead of the Olympics. IGU has called in an international trainer for special sessions with teaching professionals and trainers.

“Time and again, we have been told in international meetings how the fraternity looks towards India for the development of sports in the region.

"We have the numbers, we have a coach certification system and now with programs to 'teach our teachers' and inspire more people to play sports, we hope that in the next few years India Will become a coach." , Golf will become power." Brijinder Singh.

He said the IGU aims to include golf in programs like Khelo India Games and make the game a part of the curriculum in schools.

The IGU is an affiliate member of the national PGA association, the Confederation of Professional Golf (CPG). It has the National Golf Academy of India (NGAI) under its wings.

CPG has sent master trainers for Indian teachers, assistant teachers and officials for a three-day workshop ending on Monday. This is one of the largest programs undertaken by NGAI, which IGU established nearly two decades ago. Former Indian golfer Manav Das is guiding NGAI through this.
