Prajwal had released a video statement and promised to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the cases against him on May 31.

According to official sources, Prajwal booked a business-class ticket of Lufthansa's Munich-Bengaluru flight, which is expected to land at Kempegowd International Airport on May 31 at 12.30 pm IST.

Parameshwara said, “There is information that he (Prajwal) will come, he has booked the flight ticket.The SI has made necessary preparations.'' If he comes, the legal process will start.''

Addressing journalists here, he said, "As per the law, a warrant has been issued against him, hence he has to be arrested, the SIT will do so and take a decision."

He said, “He (Prajwal) himself has said in the video statement that he will appear before the SIT on May 31 at 10 am, not before us. So I think he will come. The state government cannot do this directly, we have to do it through the agencies of the Government of India. A team of SIT officers is camping at the airport here to arrest Prajwal.

He said that as per procedure, the immigration officials will take him into custody and hand him over to the SIT as there is a lookout notice against him.

Responding to a question on reports that the SIT found that Prajwal's video statement was recorded in Hungary and he was released from there, and why efforts were made to arrest him, Parameshwara said, “We Can't go there, not even central."
