Since December 2023, Suryakumar Yadav has held the coveted position of top-ranked men's T20I batsman. His tenure of brilliant performances and consistent run-scoring has now been eclipsed by Head's extraordinary form. Head's innings against India, although a losing cause, showcased his skills as he kept Australia in contention despite a masterclass from Rohit Sharma for India.

Head's rise in the rankings saw him jump four places, leaving Suryakumar, Phil Salt, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan one place each out of the top five. West Indies' Johnson Charles made a significant jump into the top ten by climbing four places, while Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz climbed five places to 11th.

However, the news was not so favorable for all Australians. Marcus Stoinis, who was at the top position in the all-rounder rankings for some time, has slipped to fourth place. India's Hardik Pandya has moved up to the third position, Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi has moved up to the second position and Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga has regained the No. 1 position.

West Indies' Roston Chase emerged as the standout among the all-rounders, jumping 17 places to 12th. In the bowling rankings, England's Adil Rashid retains the top spot, but Afghanistan's Rashid Khan has moved up to second place after his heroics in the World Cup. Australia's Josh Hazlewood also moved up three places to take fourth place behind Hasaranga.
