Karachi: A five-member International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation will arrive in Karachi on Tuesday for an inspection tour of next year's Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

Top officials from ICC's events and security department and general managers of cricket and production managers are part of the delegation.

ICC pitch consultant Andy Atkinson had also visited Pakistan on three separate occasions since April.

According to the details, the ICC delegation will discuss the provisional schedule of the tournament which was prepared and sent by the Pakistan Cricket Board a few months ago.

"The temporary schedule is important as it involves the Indian team staying in Lahore and playing all its matches in the city," an informed source said.

The source said the scenario where the Indian government does not allow Indians to travel to Pakistan will also be discussed.

The delegation will inspect the ongoing construction work and arrangements of the team hotel in Karachi before flying to Islamabad and Lahore for the same purpose.

"The delegation, which also includes their ICC security manager, will receive a briefing from security officials in Pakistan."

The source said that it is entirely up to the ICC as to when they finalize and announce the tournament schedule. or at
