The 25-year-old MP defeated Congress candidate Sunny Hazari and won by a margin of over five lakh votes.

In an exclusive interview with IANS, Shambhavi Chaudhary talked about giving special status to Bihar and said that LJP-RV will make fresh efforts to get special status for Bihar.

IANS: How do you feel after becoming an MP at such a young age? How will the youth benefit from this?

Shambhavi Chaudhary: My family and I always had this dream. I am a third generation politician in my family and I consider myself lucky and privileged that people have elected me to this post.

I feel grateful for this opportunity every moment and realize my responsibility towards my constituency.Representing this region as a symbol of youth power and women power, I aim to be the voice of the youth in Parliament and will try my best to serve them.

IANS: You contested the elections on LJP-RV ticket. What role do you see your party chief Chirag Paswan playing in the NDA government?

Shambhavi Chaudhary: I have repeatedly said that LJP-RV is the only party with a 100 per cent strike rate not only in these elections but also in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. We won all the seats on which we contested. This shows how much the people of Bihar have trusted the ideas and principles of our party. Our leader, Chirag Paswan is loved in the state and has consistently supported the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) unconditionally. We are happy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been elected for the third time, and we will stand with Chirag Paswan if he takes on an important responsibility.

IANS: Bihar has always demanded special category status, but this promise was never fulfilled. How committed is LJP-RV to this demand?

Shambhavi Chaudhary: People have been demanding special category status for a long time and we hope that all NDA parties will come together to discuss it. This demand was present even during the Planning Commission era, but it never came before the NITI Aayog.Once we form the government, all NDA parties and NITI Aayog members can discuss this with PM Modi. We have full faith in our Prime Minister. We will take all necessary steps to take Bihar forward.

IANS: You are part of the NDA and are forming the government with the BJP. There are many such promises that BJP has made. Is LJP-TV standing with BJP on all those issues?

Shambhavi Chaudhary: We will ensure that all the promises made are fulfilled. Our party has worked hard in the elections. We got immense support from the people and we won almost all the seats with a huge margin. Therefore, we will represent and fulfill their demands in the best possible manner.IANS: Would you like to see Chirag Paswan as the Chief Minister of Bihar in 2025?

Shambhavi Chaudhary: NDA has got a clear mandate from the public and we are only focusing on forming the government at the Center and are feeling happy that PM Modi is taking oath for the third time. We will discuss later for the 2025 assembly elections and whatever decision Chirag Paswan takes will be right.

IANS: Both JD-U and LJP won a significant number of seats. Is the relationship between the two parties like that of younger and older brothers?

Shambhavi Chaudhary: In this alliance, all the parties have equal status and everyone has equal right to put forth their demands. There is no one big or small in NDA.
