Addressing a public meeting in Lucknow, Rajnath Singh said that he has tried to fulfill the dreams of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and has left no stone unturned for the development of the city. He said, "We have worked diligently towards realizing Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji's vision for Lucknow. We are committed to take it further in the future. Lucknow is currently ranked tenth globally. But it is. , and our target is to take it to the fifth position,” Singh said, adding that there are 5 assembly constituencies under the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat.These include Lucknow East, Lucknow West, Lucknow Central, Lucknow North and Cantt assembly seats. There are a total of 39.33017 lakh voters in this parliamentary constituency. These include 20.82888 lakh male voters, 18.49960 lakh female voters and 169 third gender voters. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, there was 54.72 percent voting in Lucknow. BJP candidate Rajnath Singh had defeated SP's Poonam Sinha and Congress's Acharya Pramod Krishnam by securing 6,33,026 votes, whereas in the 2014 elections he had got 56.70 percent of the total votes. BJP candidate Rajnath Singh once again defeated Congress by 5,61,106 votes. Rita Bahuguna Joshi got 5,61,106 votes i.e. 54.52 percent votes. Apart from Lucknow, voting will be held on May 20 in other seats of Uttar Pradesh, which include Kaiserganj, Amethi, Mohanlalganj, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Banda, Fatehpur. Voting is being held in all seven phases for 80 Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh - Kaushambi, Faizabad, Barabanki, Rae Bareli and Gonda.Counting of votes is to take place on June 4.
