Bhavnaga Rajkumar came out sharply critical of the Congress' 'yuvraj', saying, "I pity Rahul Gandhi. It is very sad that a person whose father and grandmother were prime ministers of the country has ruined the party."

"It was his grandmother who came up with the land ceiling law, which resulted in many citizens losing land ownership," he said.
“Many of our people lost their land due to such biased legislation, who is responsible for this?” Bhavnagar Prince asked.
The Land Ceiling Act was a law under which five members of the community were treated as one unit and had the right to own a certain area of land, the surplus of which was taken away by the government.
This law was brought in to limit the size of land holdings by landlords and to redistribute it among the wider population.
