Kanhaiya Kumar went to polling booth number 228 located in his native village Biha Maqsoodpur and exercised his franchise.

“If you believe in democracy, your first responsibility as a voter is to cast your vote. For me this place has both emotional and political value. My childhood was spent here. I studied in the local school. “I have many memories here,” Kuma said after casting his vote.

Kumar had joined CPI ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and contested from Begusarai against BJP's Giriraj Singh but was unsuccessful.

Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, he joined Congress in 2021. There was talk that the party might claim the Begusarai seat for Kumar this time, but as per the seat-sharing formula of the India Bloc, it went to the CPI. ,

Now Kumar is contesting from North-East Delhi against BJP's Manoj Tiwari.
