New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday promised stronger crackdown on corruption and black money, saying the government has given "full freedom" to investigation agencies to take stronger action against the corrupt.

The prime minister said that no one will be spared from the repression.

He also criticized the Congress for first leveling serious allegations with evidence against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and then forming an alliance with it to fight the Lok Sabha elections.

Responding to the motion of thanks for the President's speech, Modi asserted that taking action against corruption is a mission of the NDA government and not a matter of electoral gains.

"I want to declare without hesitation and also tell the countrymen that I have given full freedom to the agencies to take the strongest action against the corrupt and corruption. The government will not interfere anywhere," the prime minister said.

"Yes, they (investigation agencies) should work honestly for honesty. No person involved in corruption will be able to escape the law. This is Modi's assurance," the Prime Minister said.

Referring to opposition members' allegation that the government is misusing investigation agencies, Modi cited statements made by opposition leaders like the late Mulayam Singh Yadav, who had accused the UPA government of use Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). ) Against them. He also said that even the Supreme Court had called the CBI a "caged parrot".

"Allegations have been made against the central investigation agencies. It has been said that the central government is misusing the investigation agencies.

"AAP commits liquor scam, AAP commits corruption, AAP commits scam in construction of classrooms for children, AAP even commits water scam... Congress complains against AAP. Congress drags AAP into courts and if action is taken, then abuse Modi," the prime minister said.

Modi said the Congress had placed a lot of evidence of AAP scams before the country in a press conference. Congress should now answer whether that evidence was true or false, he said.

Now the AAP and the Congress have become partners, he said, and challenged the AAP to demand a response from the Congress.

Modi claimed that he had promised in 2014, when the BJP came to power at the Centre, that the government would work for the welfare of the poor and also take action against corruption and black money.

"Action against corruption is a mission for us. For us it is not a question of victory or defeat in the elections," he added.
