Patna (Bihar) [India], amid the ongoing row over the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET), Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday said the government is not "silent" , adding that the action has been Action is being taken against the accused and people are being arrested.

"We are not staying silent. We are taking action and people are being arrested. Congress is just talking, however, we are doing the work. They have not apologized even after 50 years of emergency imposed on India," he told ANI a BJP MP.

On June 28, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two more accused in the NEET-UG documents leak case.

"The duo, Dr Ehsaan Ul Haq and Imtiaz Alam, were working as principal and vice-principal of Oasis School in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh," CBI sources said.

Notably, Haq was appointed city coordinator by the National Testing Agency for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2024).

Earlier, the CBI arrested two persons from Patna in Bihar in connection with the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam.

The official said that while the accused, Ashutosh, was arranging safe houses for students, the other accused, Manish, used to take candidates to a school to "prepare" them for the exam.

"Manish Prakash transported the students in his car. While the students were lodged in Ashutosh's house," the CBI officer said.

Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha witnessed several adjournments on Friday, with Congress and other opposition parties insisting on a debate on the NEET-UG dispute and the government willing to accept the motion of thanks for the President's speech.

On June 23, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a criminal case over alleged irregularities in the conduct of NEET-UG and UGC-NET exams by the NTA and formed special teams to investigate the matter.

According to the agency's FIR, certain "isolated incidents" occurred in some states during the conduct of the NEET (UG) 2024 exam, which was held on May 5.

NEET (UG) 2024 exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, 2024, at 4,750 centers in 571 cities, including 14 overseas cities, and more than 23 lakh candidates appeared for the exam .

An unprecedented 67 candidates achieved a perfect score of 720 out of 720, sparking widespread protests in the country.
