The EV will be sold in foreign markets under the name Inster. It will launch first in South Korea this summer, followed by Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

Hyundai motor contract manufacturer Gwangju Global Motors (GGM), based in the city of the same name, about 270 km southwest of Seoul, has announced that it will begin full production of the Casper Electric on July 15.

GGM said its target production by December has been set at 21,400 units, 23 percent more than its initial target of 17,400 units. The plant started trial production of Casper Electric in February and has manufactured about 300 units so far, Yonhap news agency reported.

Unveiled at the '2024 Busan International Motor Show' held last month, the Casper Electric is the electrified version of the Casper that was first introduced in 2021, but with several improvements.

The Casper Electric is equipped with a 49kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese battery, which offers a driving range of up to 315 kilometers on a single charge. It can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.
