Los Angeles, "Euphoria" star Hunter Schafer will star alongside Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh in Amazon's upcoming series based on the "Blade Runner" franchise.

Titled "Blade Runner 2099," the show will serve as a sequel to Harrison Ford's 1982 classic "Blade Runner" and its 2017 follow-up "Blade Runner 2049," which starred the Hollywood veteran alongside Ryan Gosling .

According to entertainment news outlet Variety, although details of the series' plot have been kept under wraps, Yeoh will play a character named Olwen who is nearing the end of her life.

Silka Luisa is serving as showrunner and executive producer on “Blade Runner 2099,” which will release on Prime Video.

"Blade Runner" directors Ridley Scott, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, David W. Zucker will also executive produce alongside Clayton Krueger, Tom Speziali, Richard Sharkey, Michael Green, Cynthia Yorkin, Frank Giustra and Isa Dick Hackett.

"Shogun's" Jonathan Van Tuelken will direct the first two episodes of the series.

Schaefer rose to prominence playing Jules Vaughn in the HBO teen drama series "Euphoria" and was most recently seen in "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes."

She will next star alongside Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel in "Mother Mary."
