Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Get ready for a blast of nostalgia as Hrithik Roshan-starrer 'Lakshya' is all set to re-release in theatres.

On completion of 20 years of the film, the makers have decided to release the film once again in theaters on June 21.

Sharing the update, director Farhan Akhtar wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, "A timeless tribute to courage and patriotism. Join us in theaters as we celebrate #20YearsOfLakshya, back in theaters on June 21st."

Zoya Akhtar, who served as executive producer for 'Lakshya', also expressed her excitement.

Zoya Akhtar posted the poster of the film on Instagram Story and wrote, "Working on this title was a life-changing experience."

Hrithik reshared Zoya's post and captioned it, "True (red heart emoji)."

The story of the Indian romantic war drama revolves around Karan Shergill (played by Hrithik) who has no goals for his future and is guided by his girlfriend and journalist Romila Dutta (played by Preity Zinta). Later, Karan joins the Indian Army and becomes a focused, disciplined officer cadet and eventually joins the Indian Army.

Directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Preity Zinta and late Om Puri in pivotal roles.
