Hoshiarpur, Punjab's Hoshiarpur district has topped the state for its efforts in creating awareness about increasing voter participation as part of the Systematic Voter Education and Voter Participation (SVEEP) initiative.
Komal Mittal, returning officer of Hoshiarpur (SC) Lok Sabha seat, said the district has secured the first position in the statewide ranking for its effort to increase voter participation and awareness.
Firozpur secured the second position, followed by SAS Nagar, Jalandhar, and Patiala.
Mittal appreciated the collaborative efforts in increasing voter awareness through various activities. He further said that the sweep activities will continue till June 1 with the aim of maintaining the rankings achieved.
Mittal underlined the importance of voter awareness in strengthening democracy and urged all voters to exercise their rights without any fear.
