Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders have performed remarkably in the league stage of this IPL season and big-hitting opener Phil Salt is now hoping that the team continues this momentum and gives its best performance in the playoffs.

Two-time champions KKR are currently on top with points after nine wins and three losses from 13 matches.

"It's about taking it day by day and hopefully we do our best to gain momentum at the right time," Salt said on KKR's Knights Dugout podcast.

Salt has been one of the key players in KKR's impressive run to the play-offs, forming a strong partnership with fellow opener Sunil Narine to wear down the opposition bowling attack.

Salt's colleague at KKR, left-arm fast bowler Michael Starc, said the team is desperate to reclaim the trophy they have won twice in the past.“I'm excited to be here at KKR and hopefully it's a really successful season for us. We're here to get trophies and that's our target and hopefully we're going to do exactly that. " Stark said.

The Australian fast bowler also highlighted his return to the IPL after 10 years.

“It's been a long time since I came here. I was supposed to come here with KKR in 2018, but I got injured. So it's exciting to be back and looking forward to it."

Meanwhile, Salt talked about his first experience with the England team.

"That was my first experience of being flooded with messages on my phone. I'm not usually someone who uses the phone a lot, but it was an incredible experience. My phone was filling up with messages congratulating me and it was very nice.,

He shared an anecdote about facing Jofra Archer in the nets.

"I think Jofra is the fastest I have ever faced in the nets and that too by a yard. He bowls at that pace from 18 yards with three bouncers an over "It's good because it helps sharpen the reflexes but there have been times when it does that." “He hit me right before match day and then it was all over,” Sal said.KKR will play second-placed Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on the concluding day of the league stage on May 19.
