Ambala Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday alleged that law and order has broken down in the state and said even Hisar traders had called for a bandh to protest against some recent incidents.

"Law and order have collapsed in the state," the Congress leader alleged at a press conference here.

Replying to a question, Hooda said unemployment and crime will be eliminated on priority if the Congress government is formed in the state.

The Haryana Assembly elections will be held later this year.

He alleged that the BJP government has failed to provide employment to the youth and security to the citizens.

"Unemployment and failure of law and order are the reason why Haryana leads the country in terms of unemployment and crime. This is the reason why today the youth are agitating against recruitment scams and for labor demands and traders are agitating for security," he said.

"The Hisar traders today also called for a bandh against rising crime. The Congress supports it and promises to protect the lives and properties of all citizens, including traders, if the party forms the government," he promised.

Traders observed a bandh in Hisar on Friday and shops and petrol pumps remained closed to protest against the non-arrest of the attackers, even after 12 days of shooting outside a car dealership by unidentified people, who allegedly They had demanded a ransom of Rs 5. crores.

The traders have alleged that after the firing incident, two owners of a car showroom and an auto accessories store had also received ransom demands of Rs 2 million each from unidentified people on their mobile phones.

Meanwhile, Hooda claimed that more than two lakh posts are vacant in state government departments. "Instead of hiring them permanently, the government is filling up the posts through Kaushal Rozgar Nigam. The workers are highly exploited in this nigam," he alleged.

"An industrial model township will be built in Ambala to increase investment in the private sector. Industries will flourish and expand and employment will be generated in the already established IMTs," he said.

Hooda claimed that the public has decided to teach a lesson to the BJP in the assembly elections.

"The BJP realized its defeat even before the elections... the government makes false announcements. The BJP, which has retracted all the announcements made in the 2014 and 2019 elections, wants to trap the public in the illusion of new announcements," he said.
