Hisar: All the shops of Auto Market, New Grain Market and Market Cashiers remained closed on Friday in protest against the recent firing by armed miscreants outside a car dealership here.

Traders allege that the culprits have not been arrested yet.

The 72-hour ultimatum given by traders for the arrest of the attackers who opened fire in the air at the car dealership showroom premises in the auto market here ended on Thursday evening.

The traders of New Grain Market supported today's bandh and expressed their anger by keeping all the shops of the market closed and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.

Traders said that shops in New Grain Market and Khajanchiyan Market also remained closed in support of the auto market bandh.

During the bandh, traders took out a procession in protest against the alleged breakdown of law and order, demanding the arrest of the culprits.

Traders alleged that after the firing incident, two owners of an automobile showroom and a car accessories shop had also received ransom demands from unknown miscreants on their mobile phones.

He raised questions on the alleged inaction of the police in these recent cases.

On Monday, three unidentified people opened fire outside a car dealership in Hisar and demanded Rs 5 crore from its owner.

A video that surfaced on social media shows two of them leaving the showroom with their faces covered.

According to the police, the trio arrived on a motorcycle, entered the dealership, left a note with a ransom demand and fired shots in the air outside the showroom before leaving.
