New Delhi: Vedanta Group company Hindustan Zinc on Thursday said it has started receiving power supply from Cerentika Renewables.

The renewable energy is being used to power Hindustan Zinc's operational business units in Rajasthan.

"On Global Energy Independence Day, Hindustan Zinc... announced the commencement of the first phase of renewable energy integration from Cerentika Renewables," the Vedanta group company said in a statement.

Hindustan Zinc said it has signed an agreement with Cerantika to supply 450 MW of power round the clock.

While Hindustan Zinc has an existing captive solar power capacity of 40.70 MW solar power and is dependent on conventional fuel sources for the rest of its power requirements, this renewable energy from Cerantika will increase the amount of renewable energy in the overall energy mix of the company. statement.
