Shimla, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday said the Himachal Pradesh government will work as a strategic partner in the project of setting up a bulk drug park in the state and will provide funds in addition to financial assistance from the central government for its timely completion. .

The Rs 1,923 crore Bulk Drug Park project aims to set up a mega drug manufacturing facility spread over 570 hectares in Haroli assembly constituency of Una district.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the project by holding a meeting with senior officials on Thursday. An official statement issued here said it was also decided in the meeting that the state government will bear the operating cost of the project for the first 10 years.

The Bulk Drug Park consists of a common effluent treatment plant with 5 MLD capacity, a solid waste management plant, a storm water drainage network, a common solvent storage, recovery and distillation facility, stream production plant, an advanced laboratory testing centre, an emergency response There will be convenience. Centre, Hazardous Operations Audit Center and Center of Excellence, the Chief Minister said.

Other infrastructure like walkways, canteen, fire station and administrative block will be constructed along with the overall site development.

The Chief Minister directed the Industries Department to expedite the tender process and remove any hurdles and complete all the formalities in a time bound manner.

He said the park is expected to generate significant revenue and create employment opportunities for the youth.
