Lahaul and Spiti (Himachal Pradesh) [India], One person died and several others were injured after a tourist vehicle overturned and met with an accident at Ghundhi Bridge near Atal Tunnel Rohtang Pass on Wednesday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Manali, KD Sharma said that the passengers traveling in the tourist vehicle were residents of Mumbai. The incident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle near Ghundhi Bridge near Atal Tunnel Rohtang Pass. There were 21 tourists including the driver in the vehicle. 18 were injured and 1 died. It is reported that the driver and one passenger are safe.
The officer further said that the injured have been sent to a local hospital in Manali. Detailed information in the matter is awaited. The Atal Tunnel, also known as the Rohtang Tunnel, is located beneath the Rohtang Pass in the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh. It connects the Solang Valley near Manali to Sissu in Lahaul and Spiti district.
