The truck sent from Raj Bhawan, which includes blankets, kitchen utensils, hygiene kits and tarpaulins, will be used by the district administration in the disaster-affected areas.

Speaking to the media, the governor said that he had alerted all stakeholders that Raj Bhawan and the state government are well prepared for any disaster-related issues arising due to monsoon rains.

Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, said: "Last year too there was a disaster and we had to send relief material again and again. This year, through the Red Cross, we have tried to ensure that the relief material arrive before any disaster so that it can be used at the right time I will send the material to the places where it is needed and today, for the first time, we have sent a vehicle, last year we sent six vehicles of relief material.

He further claimed that Raj Bhawan was alert and stopped the first relief vehicle for Kullu district.

"Raj Bhawan is alert, the government will also help, but Raj Bhawan wants to fulfill its responsibility and we will send the material to all the districts and we have designated the first relief vehicle for Kullu district. He asked tourists to avoid traveling near rivers and streams.
