The successful kidney transplant was performed by the dedicated team of doctors at Tanda Medical College, significantly benefiting local patients who no longer need to travel to PGI or AIIMS for such procedures.

The treatment will be provided free of charge under the Himcare and Ayushman Yojana programmes, ensuring accessible healthcare for all.

RS Bali praised the tireless efforts of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, whose continuous feedback and support were crucial in achieving this milestone. He also extended his gratitude to the PGI doctors for their invaluable support.

In addition to the kidney transplant center, the medical school already offers valve transplantation and heart perforation services, further cementing its reputation as a leading healthcare institution.

The School of Nursing at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College has been converted into a College of Nursing and plans are afoot to establish a Lactation Management Center to support breastfeeding mothers and babies.
