Shimla: According to Election Commission data, BJP has won Mandi, Kangra and Hamirpur Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh and the party is far ahead of Congress in the remaining parliamentary constituency of Shimla.

According to the Election Commission, Union Minister Anurag Thakur won the Hamirpur parliamentary seat for the fifth consecutive time by defeating his nearest rival and Congress candidate Satpal Raizada by a margin of 1,82,357 votes.

The four-time MP got 6,07,068 votes, while former Una MLA Raizada got 4,24,711 votes.

Thakur expressed hope that the BJP-led NDA will once again form the government in the country and thanked the people of Himachal Pradesh for giving a huge mandate to the party.

BJP's Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has defeated her rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by 74,755 votes in Mandi.He got 5,37,002 votes as against 4,62,267 votes polled by Raja of erstwhile Rampur state, who is also the son of the state's current PWD minister and six-time chief minister Virbhadra Singh and state Congress chief Pratibha Singh.

In Kangra, BJP candidate Rajiv Bhardwaj has won the seat by a margin of 2,51,895 votes.

Bhardwaj's Congress rival Anand Sharma has accepted defeat.

Former Union minister Sharma said, "Contesting the elections from Kangra was a great experience and I humbly accept my defeat and congratulate Rajiv Bhardwaj for his success."

"I am grateful to the Congress party leadership and colleagues who trusted me and, knowing that Kangra is a BJP stronghold, I accepted the party's decision," he said.,

"I am grateful to the people of Kangra and Chamba for their love and affection," he said.

In Shimla, former state BJP president and sitting party MP Suresh Kashyap is leading over his nearest Congress rival Vinod Sultanpuri by 90,548 votes.

Kashyap said that the results are on the lines of exit polls and people have made up their mind to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister for the third time.

State BJP chief Rajeev Bindal said that the people have once again given the mandate to the party.

Bindal, in a video message released here, said that despite the fact that the Congress government "misused" its power, the BJP is leading in all four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh.

He said it was a "big defeat" for Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who has "failed to deliver" so far in his government's 18-month tenure.Counting of votes for Lok Sabha seats and six assembly constituencies, where by-elections were held simultaneously on June 1, began at 8 am at 80 counting centers across the state.

The assembly constituencies where by-elections were held are Sujanpur, Dharamshala, Lahaul and Spiti, Badsar, Gagret and Kutlehar.
