New Delhi [India], A passenger who was on an Air India flight from Bengaluru to San Francisco on Monday shared the horrifying experience of finding an alleged metal blade in his in-flight meal.

The passenger on 'X' wrote, "Air India's food can be cut like a knife. Its roasted sweet potatoes and anjeer chaat had a metal piece hidden in them that looked like a blade. I realized it only after chewing the grub. Happened." For a few seconds."

"Thankfully, there was no damage. Of course, the blame entirely lies with Air India's catering service, but this incident does not detract from the image I have of Air India. What if a piece of metal hits a child? The first picture shows the piece of metal that I spit out and the second picture shows the food before the metal was inserted into my life", he further said.

Meanwhile, the airline in its response claimed that the foreign object had come from a vegetable processing machine.

Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Air India, said, "Air India confirms that a foreign object was found in the food of a guest onboard one of our flights. After investigation, it was identified to be from a used vegetable processing machine Is." At our catering partner's facilities we have worked with our catering partners to strengthen measures to prevent any recurrence, including checking processors more frequently, particularly after cutting any hard vegetables."
