Assam Rifles sources said heroin hidden in 112 soap boxes was seized from three smugglers at Melbuk, Zote and Champhai-Aizawl Road in Champa district on Thursday night.

The three smugglers, residents of Kaharout and New Champhai areas, have confessed that the drugs were smuggled from the neighboring country Myanmar.

The heroin and the captured persons have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.
