Heavy rainfall continues in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with Malpura in Tonk district recording 176 mm rainfall in a 24-hour period, the weather office said on Friday.

Across the state, 116 mm rainfall was recorded in Sajangarh of Banswara, 107 mm in Tijara, 101 mm in Danpur, 102 mm in Nainwan (Bundi), 97 mm in Thanagaji, 90 mm in Pipalda (Kota), 88 mm in Tapukada. There was 82 mm rainfall in Phagi in Jaipur, 75 mm in Karauli, 75 mm in Ramgarh, 68 mm in Nawalgarh of Jhunjhunu and 65 mm in Baswa of Dausa.

The weather office said moderate to heavy rainfall occurred in many parts of the state in 24 hours.

The weather office said the circulation over south-western Uttar Pradesh and adjoining eastern Rajasthan caused heavy rains, with the monsoon trough passing through Bikaner and Sikar.

Monsoon is expected to remain active over most parts of East Rajasthan, with significant rainfall predicted over Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, Udaipur divisions.

The weather office said there is a possibility of heavy rain in Tonk and surrounding districts.

Heavy rain is likely to continue in East Rajasthan on Saturday but it may reduce on Sunday and June 8.

There is a possibility of rain in some parts of northeastern Rajasthan on Sunday and June 8 and it is likely to increase on July 9-10.

The weather office said that there is a possibility of rain in Bikaner division and eastern and northern parts of Jodhpur division in the next two to three days.
