New Delhi, Senior officials of the Union Health Ministry and the National Board of Medical Sciences Examinations on Monday reviewed the NEET-PG exam process, two days after the entrance exam for postgraduate medical courses was postponed. .

The National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) entrance exam is conducted by the National Board for Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), along with its technical partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), for medical students.

According to sources, senior officials of the TCS were present in the meeting.

The government on Saturday postponed the NEET-PG entrance exam, scheduled for June 23, as a "precautionary measure" in the wake of recent allegations over the integrity of certain competitive exams.

Monday's meeting was held to check the "robustness" of the system for conducting the exam in the coming days, sources said.

It was learned that the top brass of TCS briefed on the various aspects of the examination procedure followed in the meeting.

"The upload process of NEET-PG exam begins one hour before the exam is conducted. This time it has been postponed as a preventive measure to ensure that the exam is conducted in a transparent and secure manner. New dates will be announced soon depending on the availability of the centers," the source said.

"Considering the recent incidents of allegations regarding the integrity of certain competitive examinations, the Ministry of Health has decided to carry out a comprehensive assessment of the robustness of the NEET-PG entrance examination processes, conducted by the National Board of Examinations for medical students," the ministry stated on Saturday.

"Accordingly, it has been decided, as a precautionary measure, to postpone the NEET-PG entrance exam, scheduled to be held tomorrow, June 23, 2024," it said. BSR
