Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Amid the heated debate over the invitation to an event given by Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, in which Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar is shown wearing saffron robes, MDMK leader Vaik stressed that Expressed strong disapproval that Thiruvalluvar is beyond one religion and caste. Vaiko said, "This is condemnable. Poet-saint Thiruvalluvar is above caste and religion. H (the Governor) is making Raj Bhavan a laughing stock." The saffronisation of the ancient poet-philosopher has sparked a fresh controversy among political leaders. Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi recently sparked controversy by posting a picture on social media, showing Thiruvalluvar wearing saffron robes with ashes on his forehead.Whereas, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin posted a picture of the poet in white attire and shared an image of the Valluvar statue in Kanniyakumari.

No one can tarnish Valluvar in Kuralovian Tamil Nadu, where a 133-foot statue And a Kottam in the capital,'' Stalin wrote in a post on Seeking to connect with the people of Tamil Nadu, where the BJP is trying to establish a foothold, the party said in its manifesto, "We want to showcase the rich culture of India and provide training in yoga, ayurveda Will establish Thiruvallu cultural centers across the world, Indian languages, classical music etc.We will promote India's rich democratic traditions spanning thousands of years as a kite of democracy."

Releasing the BJP manifesto, PM Modi said, "We will create Thiruvalluvar cultural centers across the world. Tamil, the oldest language in the world, is our pride. BJP will make every possible effort to enhance the global prestige of Tamil language."

Thiruvalluvar, commonly known as Valluvar, was an ancient Tamil philosopher, known for his wisdom expressed in 1,330 couplets on subjects ranging from ethics to economics.
