New Delhi: IT company HCLTech on Monday said it has partnered with British semiconductor and software design company Arm to work on custom silicon chips that support AI-powered business operations.

A semiconductor designed for a specific function is called a custom silicon chip.

HCLTech said in a statement that the partnership will enable semiconductor manufacturers, system OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and cloud service providers to increase the computing efficiency of their data center environments.

HCLTech said it will use the Arm Neoverse Compute Subsystem (CSS) to help customers reduce development risks and provide innovative, market-optimized solutions for improved performance and scalability for AI workloads.
