A government spokesperson said around 12,759 police personnel, including investigating officers, 250 law officers and jail officials, have been trained to handle the changes effectively.

Further, the State Prison Department is prepared with proper and adequate technical infrastructure with around 300 desktops in all its prisons.

Recognizing the importance of virtual court proceedings, the department has installed 149 video conferencing systems in prisons and court complexes, and 178 more will be purchased, the spokesperson said.

This allows a significant portion of prisoner movements to be held virtually, reducing unnecessary transportation and improving efficiency.

Chief Secretary T.V.S.N. Prasad said the prison department has implemented e-Prison software in all jails which will facilitate electronic submission of custody certificates directly to the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Chandigarh.

He said to ensure that all departments are prepared, an inter-departmental committee has prepared a template to assess the preparedness of the stakeholder department.

Nodal agency Prasad said all departments will submit implementation certificates to the prosecution department.
