"Today at around 4:40 am, we received information that a goods train has derailed at Tarawadi station in Karnal. Eight coaches have derailed, while two wheels have come off. As of now, we are investigating the cause. I cannot give further details on what is behind the derailment”, said Dinesh, Inspector, Karnal Police.
Inspector Dinesh said that trains have been stopped on the Delhi-Ambala railway line.
He said, "The tracks are also being cleared. It will take some time to do so. However, we are working on it. Trains have been stopped on the Delhi-Ambala railway line. No casualties have been reported." "
Early last month, two coaches of a goods train laden with coal derailed near Faridabad railway station in Haryana. However, no one was reported injured in that incident either.
