The goods train was going from Delhi to Amritsar.

"Today at around 4:40 am, we received information that a goods train has derailed at Tarawadi station in Karnal. Eight coaches have derailed, while two wheels have come off. As of now, we are investigating the cause. I cannot give further details on what is behind the derailment”, said Dinesh, Inspector, Karnal Police.

Inspector Dinesh said that trains have been stopped on the Delhi-Ambala railway line.
