Ranchi, Haryana defeated Madhya Pradesh 3-2 while Odisha defeated Mizoram 2-0 in a shootout in the National Women's Hockey League 2024 here on Thursday.

When the score remained 0-0 till the stipulated time, the Haryana-MP match went into a shootout.

In the early matches of the day, both Haryana and Madhya Pradesh fought hard but could not convert their chances.

Madhya Pradesh got five penalty corners while Haryana got four penalty corners but none of them resulted in a goal.

In the shootout, Manju Chorasia, Pinky and Khasa Shashi scored for Haryana, while Karmanpreet Kaur and Swati scored for Madhya Pradesh. Ishika saved three goals for Haryana and helped them get two points.

The first quarter of the second match remained goalless but Pratibha Ekka (25') made a field goal in the second quarter to put Odisha ahead. No goals were scored in the third quarter and Odisha were leading 1-0 till the last 10 minutes of the scheduled time.

Karuna Minj (52') doubled Odisha's lead by scoring a field goal in the last quarter.
