Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], In a relief and rescue operation, a team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) pulled out four submerged vehicles from the river Ganga that were washed away in a storm drain flood near Kharkhari. Haridwar on Sunday.

These vehicles have been handed over to the district police.

After heavy rains in Haridwar on Saturday, the rain drain near Khadkhadi area suddenly overflowed, due to which these vehicles were washed away in the Ganga river.

On receiving the information, SDRF team reached the spot on Saturday and started relief and rescue operations under the leadership of ASI Pravindra Dhasmana.

After a lot of effort and hours of hard work, the SDRF team pulled out four vehicles from the river and handed them over to the district police.

Earlier on Saturday, heavy rains caused severe floods in Haridwar in Uttarakhand, causing the water level in the Ganga river to rise, causing vehicles to float and roads to be submerged.

On Saturday, intense rain caused the water level of river Ganga to rise significantly, flooding roads and partially or completely submerging many vehicles.

Local authorities had advised residents and visitors to avoid bathing in the river due to dangerous conditions.
