New Delhi: Nearly 50 per cent of respondents are planning to spend more on online shopping during the upcoming festive season, an IPSOS survey conducted by Amazon said on Thursday.

The survey claims that responses from 7,263 people have been received in July-August 2024 at 35 centers including Delhi NCR, Allahabad, Lucknow, Mathura, Moradabad, Etawah, Jalandhar, Jaipur, Udaipur, Kolkata etc.

Nearly 89 per cent of respondents expressed their excitement for the upcoming festivities, while 71 per cent indicated their intention to shop online.

"Almost 50 per cent of respondents who intend to shop online said they will spend more on online festive shopping compared to last year. This trend is most pronounced in metros (55 per cent) and tier-2 cities (43 per cent in the top 10 cities). -40 lakh population), the report said.

Convenience emerges as a key driver for online shopping and 76 percent of people appreciate the ability to shop remotely anytime, anywhere.

“Large scale fast delivery (74 per cent), trust in online shopping programs to provide genuine/original products (75 per cent), affordable payment options like no-cost EMI (75 per cent) are some of the other key factors that drive customers to Motivate to do online shopping,” the report said.
