Gurugram: A 16-year-old boy, accused of murdering his 9-year-old neighbor and burning her body, was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) here and sent to a Faridabad reform home, police said on Tuesday. Gave.

According to police, on Monday the teenager allegedly strangulated the girl and set her body on fire using temple camphor in her house after she caught him stealing jewellery.

Police officials said that during interrogation, the boy told the police that he was stealing the jewelery to repay Rs 20,000 which he had borrowed from his friends to play online games.

He told that initially the teenager tried to mislead people but when the police interrogated him, he confessed to his crime.

A senior investigator said the boy was taken into protective custody for two days.

"In protective custody, we can interrogate him during the day but he should be sent back to the correctional home in the evening," he said.

"After the post-mortem, the girl's body was handed over to her family. According to the post-mortem report, the cause of death was strangulation," he said.

A case of murder has been registered in the Rajendra Park police station under new criminal laws.
